Mortarman's Day Out
Back in January, we took Mortarman out for the day to get him away from the hospital. We were to take four guys but one was not feeling well, one was in surgery and one was stuck in physical therapy. So Mortarman and his wife got a day with the crew and we all had a ball.
Stop one was Chubby's BBQ in Emmitsburg. If you have not been there, please go, the food is well worth the trip.
Stop two was the Gettysburg Battlefield, where we took in some of the historic battle sites with accompanying narrative by our own Dragon.
Stop three was Battlefield Harley-Davidson, where we got to meet the owner and bought some trinkets and generally disrupted their day. They loved it. They have been so very supportive of the soldiers at Walter Reed and Bethesda. Pay them a visit and say thanks....and buy a bike, they got quite a selection. Or at least a t-shirt.
