Wounded Warriors
Program
Over the last several years, a
program started within the Western MD Chapter revolving around our
wounded soldiers returning from Afghanistan and Iraq. The program has
been centered around Walter Reed Army Medical Center and includes all
military wounded. It started as some visits to provide moral support to
the wounded, as well as
the comfort of Veterans who can sympathize and empathize with the trials
and tribulations they are currently experiencing. Since then, with much
legwork and some great community support, it has blossomed into a
program that has made a significant difference in the lives of
the soldiers we see and touch. We bring needed supplies, gifts on
Holidays, visits and even take some offsite to events of interest to
them in the area or
to events that we have sponsored.
In the past year, the
Brothers who spearheaded this program have moved on and formed a chapter
of their own. They continue this fine work and we of the Western MD
Chapter applaud their continuing efforts and ask that, as you enjoy
these pictures, please don't be afraid to open your wallet to help these
brave young men and women who have given so very much of their lives
that we may enjoy the freedoms we have.
The following links will
take you to some of the picture pages we have set up to document these
events. We do this to illustrate how much just a simple visit can make a
difference, how much a smile, handshake, hug or thank you can impact
these brave young men and women.
Please enjoy the photos.
